Additional Main Duties: Plans, develops, implements, evaluates and promotes patient, family, community and staff education for the assigned directorate. Establishes educational goals and objectives on behalf of the Nursing Staff Development Department for Mid Atlantic Wellness Institute and facilitates their achievement Establishes attainable staff competencies and assists staff in maintaining high standards of performance Assists with orientation and ongoing clinical and professional development of staff Routinely assesses/addresses learning needs of clients and families Organizes in-service education for new equipment/supplies and care processes Assists with direct patient care to maintain clinical skills. Participates in hospital/community health fairs Acts as an expert clinical resource person for staff by demonstrating expert knowledge in health care trends and evidence based practices within the assigned areas and as role model and preceptor for staff Deputizes for other Clinical Educators when required Additional Tech and Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Registered Mental Nurse (RMN), Master’s preferred Proven ability in developing/facilitating modules designed to expedite adult learning. Competent with setting up/operating audio/visual equipment Minimum of five (5) years of Mental Health experience Demonstrated superior communication, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills Basic Life Support (BLS) & safety care Instructor Certification preferred Proficient in Office Suite
