Open Airways is a Bermuda-registered charity dedicated to improving the lives of individuals living with asthma and COPD through education, support, advocacy, and community programs. We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and motivated Executive Director to lead our organization and help shape its future.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide strategic leadership while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the charity. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the community.

Key Responsibilities - The successful candidate will:

• Provide leadership and operational management of the organization.
• Research and prepare grant applications and manage donor relationships.
• Ensure compliance with charitable and regulatory requirements.
• Provide and prepare accurate financial accounts, budgeting, and reporting.
• Support the Board of Directors and implement strategic initiatives.
• Oversee communications, publicity, and community engagement.
• Coordinate fundraising activities, special events, and organizational programs.
• Supervise staff and promote a positive and collaborative workplace.

Qualifications - Applicants should possess:

• A university degree in business, public administration, nonprofit management, healthcare, communications, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent education and relevant experience will also be considered.
• At least five years of progressive management experience, preferably in the nonprofit, healthcare, or community sector.
• Demonstrated success in grant writing and fundraising.
• Excellent organizational, communication, financial, and leadership skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently.

Position Details

• Flexible part-time position (seeking 15-20 hours per week, negotiable).
• Opportunity to work primarily from home with attendance at meetings, community events, and other activities throughout Bermuda as required.
• Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
