Reporting to the Head of Marine, the Marine Underwriter/Actuary will be responsible for developing and managing a significant book of treaty business across specialty lines, including marine, offshore energy, space and aviation war. Key responsibilities include marketing to clients and brokers, evaluating financial objectives, assessing risks, negotiating contracts, performing statistical analyses, and catastrophe modelling analysis.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in related field. Minimum of 7 years' underwriting experience across marine, offshore energy and broader specialty classes, with 5 years' post qualification actuarial experience. FCAS, FCIA or equivalent designation is required. In-depth knowledge of the global specialty insurance and reinsurance markets. Extensive travel and the ability to work overtime and weekends are expected.
