Reporting to the Head of IT, this role leads the strategy, reliability, and security of the company's core infrastructure platform, spanning compute, network, storage, and databases. The Lead is responsible for Infrastructure & System Engineering (WAN, LAN, VPN, Meraki, local firewalls), Database & Data Management (SQL administration), Storage & Data Resilience (VeeaM Backup, Azure Backup), and driving SRE & Automation (PowerShell, Python). The role also covers Platform Stability & ITSM, Security Execution, Monitoring & Observability, and Virtualization & Gateway Management.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or similar in Computer Science. At least 3 years of managing a team of System Engineers and DBAs. At least 10 years of hands-on working experience. Fluent in English, German is an asset. Certifications desired: MSCE, SRE Foundation, VMware VCP, MS SQL Server, CCNP Enterprise, ITIL Foundation. Deep expertise in operating systems (Windows/Linux Server), hypervisors, core networking (WAN, LAN, VPN), and storage fundamentals. Extensive DBA expertise (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Azure SQL, NoSQL). Proficiency in scripting/coding (PowerShell, Python). Mastery of high-availability, disaster recovery, and data protection concepts. Only accepting applications from Bermudian, Spouse of Bermudian, or PRC holders.
