The successful applicant must have a solid knowledge in catering, pizza and takeout and its preparation, with a minimum of 3 years experience. Written work references will be required. The position requires that the successful applicant work split shifts, public holidays and weekends in this very busy fast paced kitchen which is open 7 days per week. The applicant may have to split their work between our commercial kitchens. The position also requires that the successful applicants also work off site representing the restaurant company for private catering, and events when necessary and assist with the transportation of our products to various venues representing our restaurant company. The chef/cook will be in charge of mise-en place, food safety, plating and preparation of the final product. Key Duties and Responsibilities include preparing, cooking and presenting dishes for a multitude of Customers, managing and training any demi-chef de parties or commis working with you, helping the head chef to develop new dishes and menus, ensuring high standards of food hygiene and following health and safety rules, and monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins. Will oversee the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals in the restaurant. This position will report to the Executive Chef. The successful candidate must hold a Diploma or Certificate from a recognized culinary school and at least 3 years’ experience working in all areas of a busy restaurant kitchen. Knowledge of Food Hygiene is a must, along with excellent communications skills, a positive attitude with proven ability to work effectively as part of a team to meet restaurant standards. Based on the nature of these positions and they are a position of trust a police certificate is required. A proven record, substantiated with references is required. Ability to work shifts, extended hours, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years experience in a high pace environment, working knowledge of using a commercial pizza oven, experience with catering and multi-national cuisines, sanitary certificates, knowledge of food hygiene, diploma or certificate from a recognized culinary school.

$40000 - 50000 per week
