We are seeking qualified Chefs to join their busy kitchen. Reporting to and assisting the Head Chef, the successful candidates must be able to manage all aspects of the kitchen when the Head Chef is absent. Applicants must be highly motivated, capable of supervising kitchen staff, communicate well and be able to oversee the work of junior staff. The ability to function well under pressure, have a keen eye for detail and the physical stamina to work in a high volume, busy take-out environment is essential. The successful candidate will work six days a week including weekends and public holidays. Soul Food complies with all statutory hygiene requirements governing the food service industry so knowledge of and adherence to food safety, health, and sanitary procedures is mandatory.

Requirements

Applicants must have at least two years' experience at the Chef/Chef de Cuisine level or at least five years as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie with full working knowledge in all areas of the kitchen including preparation of local & ethnic cuisine, as well as hot and cold dishes. Previous catering experience is an asset. Preference will be given to applicants holding an Associate's Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts or related discipline.
