This role is responsible for underwriting decisions within underwriting authority for US Reinsurance business written in Bermuda. Ultimate responsibility for the results of the book of business written through the Bermuda platform. Runs the office and coordinates all processes with outsourced entities. Key responsibilities include leading the Bermuda Branch, managing U.S. Property Treaty reinsurance business, driving strategic direction, developing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing stakeholder relationships.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field; 15+ years of relevant reinsurance experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role; ACII designation or equivalent professional insurance qualification; Extensive experience in Property Treaty reinsurance underwriting; Significant experience in the global reinsurance market, including U.S. Property Reinsurance; Proven senior leadership and people management experience within the insurance or reinsurance industry; Strong knowledge of Bermuda insurance regulation, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance requirements; Experience working with catastrophe modelling platforms such as RMS or equivalent exposure management systems.
