Senior Officer - Strategy

The Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) is seeking the services of a skilled and capable individual to join the Strategy team as a Senior Officer in our Policy Development, Strategy and International Affairs Department. Reporting to the Assistant Director-Strategy, the Senior Officer-Strategy will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Authority's strategic initiatives. To ensure alignment with the BMA's mission, vision and regulatory objectives, the successful candidate will contribute to corporate strategy formulation, conduct strategic research and analysis, and help build a culture where strategy is embedded throughout the organisation. The role involves a high degree of collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including working with senior executives and interactions with the Board of Directors. This is a key role for the Authority and the post-holder will be responsible for but not limited to: Supporting the development and refinement of the Authority's strategic planning and implementation processes Conducting research and analysis on environmental trends, market developments, and regulatory innovations to inform strategic decision-making Assisting in translating corporate strategy into departmental strategies and initiatives Collaborating with internal departments to ensure strategic initiatives are clearly defined, measurable, and effectively executed Preparing strategic reports, presentations, and documentation for senior management and the Board of Directors Participating in internal committees and contributing to cross- functional strategic projects Supporting the development of thought leadership papers and strategic white papers on key regulatory and financial sector trends Designing and delivering internal strategy education sessions and workshops to build strategic awareness and capability across the Authority Promoting a culture of strategic thinking and innovation through knowledge-sharing initiatives and cross-departmental collaboration Performing other related work and special projects as assigned by management in accordance with competencies normally associated with the post This position requires a proven technical and business background. Therefore, the post-holder must have: A Master's degree in Strategy, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field from a recognised university or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline and a professional qualification or certification A minimum of seven (7) years' of relevant experience in strategic planning, consulting, or regulatory affairs, preferably within the financial services sector or a regulatory body Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic initiatives and managing complex projects Creative and pragmatic approach to identifying solutions and overcoming challenges Familiarity with international regulatory standards and financial sector dynamics High level of accuracy and thoroughness in all work outputs Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and engage stakeholders at all levels Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills Excellent listening and people skills Bermuda Monetary Authority is the integrated regulator of Bermuda's financial services sector.
