Senior Management Accountant

The Senior Management Accountant manages the financial reporting and accounting functions of the Accountant General's Department in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role supervises accountants, is responsible for the Bank Reconciliations section, coordinates training for Trainee Management Accountants, and manages operational financial and human resources functions. The post holder will also handle associated duties as required by the Accountant General and the Assistant Accountant General, exercising decision-making authority within set policies.

Requirements

Minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of relevant post-qualification experience in accounting, with one (1) to two (2) years of supervisory experience at the senior level. Professional qualification in Accounting, membership in an internationally recognized accounting body, and compliance with continuing professional education requirements. Familiarity with financial and public sector standards, Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP systems is desirable.
