AXIS Capital, a global specialty insurance and reinsurance provider, is seeking a Head of Internal Controls. This newly created position is established to strengthen financial reporting capabilities, enhance governance, and support expanding SEC reporting requirements. The role contributes directly to financial reporting quality, governance, risk management discipline, and stakeholder confidence. Key duties include leading SOX activities, aligning work with Internal Audit, managing external audit coordination, assisting with SEC filings (Forms 10 K, 10 Q), and preparing Audit Committee presentations.

Requirements

Internationally recognized accounting designation (CA, CPA, ACA or equivalent); Minimum five (5) years post qualification experience in (re)insurance; Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, SOX requirements, and internal control frameworks; Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Strong project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities; Willingness to work extended hours during peak reporting cycles.
