Ascot Underwriting (Bermuda) Limited underwrites multi-class re/insurance solutions for a diverse range of clients. We are seeking an AVP Underwriter - Marine & Energy to join the Bermuda Marine & Energy reinsurance team. Key Duties include underwriting and managing a portfolio of Marine & Energy treaty reinsurance business, evaluating submissions, risk exposures, historical performance, portfolio composition, and pricing considerations. You will determine appropriate terms, conditions, limits, and pricing strategies, monitor portfolio performance, lead negotiations on treaty renewals, and maintain accurate underwriting documentation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline. Minimum of 5+ years of experience within treaty reinsurance. Demonstrated knowledge of reinsurance structures, pricing methodologies, and contract interpretation. Strong understanding of the London Market/Lloyds market. Advanced analytical and data-driven underwriting capabilities, including proficiency in Excel as well as Power BI, Python, Allphins, or similar platforms.
