Reporting to the SVP, Credit Risk Transfer & Services, the Senior Portfolio Analyst analyzes the Credit Risk Transfer (CRT) deals placed in the market and provides insights to the underwriting team to support pricing recommendations. This position is responsible for utilizing a variety of models developed within the analytics team to provide estimates of deal performance under a variety of economic scenarios and the expected impacts on returns, as well as identifying the drivers of changes in performance across deals. The position also provides reporting on CRT deals that are used by the underwriting teams in the development of pricing recommendations for new deals and the surveillance of existing transactions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline. 5+ years of progressive experience in Credit Risk Transfer, mortgage finance, structured finance, or a related financial services environment. Experience with the mortgage industry and GSE credit risk transfer transactions is preferred. Strong data analytics experience using Python, SQL, and Excel (or similar tools), and building Power BI data visualizations. Understanding of financial analysis techniques and metrics, including experience in asset pooling, cash flow structuring, and priority of payments modeling. Ability to work with business stakeholders to design and develop interactive data visualizations or reports. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively within and across departments. Ability to make sound business recommendations based on the evaluation of relevant factors. Travel and the ability to work outside standard business hours, as required.
