The Head of ILS is a senior role within the Arch Capital Partners team, responsible for developing and executing third-party capital product strategies that support Arch Re's underwriting, capital management, and growth objectives. Working closely with internal stakeholders and investors, the role leads the design and evolution of innovative ILS solutions, enhances capital efficiency, and supports portfolio optimization and investor engagement. Key duties include developing a portfolio of new third-party products, designing structures to reflect market conditions, optimizing portfolio performance, and negotiating structures and pricing with investors.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative field; 10 years' experience in underwriting, ILS, or reinsurance/retrocession purchasing; In-depth understanding of Arch Re modelling tools (RMS and AIR) and ability to perform statistical analyses; Extensive knowledge of traditional and non-traditional retrocession products; Proven track record in designing, marketing and placing third-party capital structures (Cat Bonds, Side Car, etc.); Ability to engage senior stakeholders and investors; Willingness to travel extensively.
