Reporting to the Head of Exposure Management, the Underwriting Exposure Manager is responsible for the identification, measurement, monitoring, analysis and reporting of non-natural catastrophe exposures across the Company’s reinsurance portfolio. The role supports underwriting decision-making by ensuring that casualty clash, cyber, terror, specialty and other man-made accumulations are understood, quantified, monitored against approved risk appetites and managed within established limits and tolerances. Working closely with Underwriting, Actuarial, Risk Management and Catastrophe Modelling teams, the role provides portfolio-level insight into exposure concentrations, emerging accumulations and aggregation trends to support profitable growth and effective risk management.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, data science, finance or another relevant quantitative discipline. Relevant professional qualification or progress towards a recognised actuarial, insurance, risk management or other relevant professional designation. Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience within reinsurance, exposure management, catastrophe modelling, actuarial, risk management or a related analytical function. Strong SQL skills; experience with R, Python, R Shiny and/or Power BI would be advantageous. Experience within Bermuda, Lloyd’s or other international reinsurance markets.
