Our client, The Bermuda Broadcasting Company Limited (BBC), is seeking a Digital & Broadcast News Reporter. Reporting to the News Director, the News team seeks an experienced digital and broadcast journalist to craft compelling news stories for the web, radio, television and social media. Duties & Responsibilities include covering 'hard news' topics such as politics, crime, economics, government, and health; covering breaking news events live; utilizing video, audio and social media to enhance storytelling; collaborating with the News team; monitoring Bermuda, Caribbean and international news; creating, publishing and managing content for digital platforms; and upholding high editorial and ethical journalism standards.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years' experience in a newsroom as a full-time journalist. Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or a related field preferred. Web savvy and demonstrable social media skills with proficiency using Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn & TikTok. Radio news reporting experience. Excellent research, interviewing and writing skills. Sound editorial judgement and knowledge of media law. Familiarity with video editing suites such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas Pro, etc. Strong on-camera presence with the ability to report live events with confidence and professionalism.
