Our client, The Bermuda Broadcasting Company Limited (BBC), is seeking a skilled and creative Camera Operator/Video Editor to join their broadcast production team. Reporting to the News Director, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality video content and helping to transform raw footage into compelling, polished productions for television news, digital platforms, live events, and special projects. Key responsibilities include operating professional broadcast cameras, setting up production equipment, framing video according to creative direction, and editing content for various media platforms. Additional duties involve troubleshooting technical issues, managing media assets, and staying current with industry trends.

Requirements

Diploma, degree, or equivalent experience in News Broadcasting, Media Production, Film, Communications, or a related field. Proven experience operating professional video cameras and editing software. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar editing platforms. Strong understanding of video composition, lighting, audio recording, and storytelling techniques. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to production locations as needed. Experience in television news broadcasting or live event production preferred. Knowledge of motion graphics software such as Adobe After Effects preferred. Familiarity with broadcast workflows and media asset management systems. Drone operation certification preferred. Ability to lift and transport production equipment.
