You will be our VP, Underwriting responsible for developing and enhancing the Bermuda Specialty team's portfolio of credit and specialty business, in conjunction with, and reporting to the Global Head of Credit. Your responsibilities will include: Working effectively with other team members to develop and execute on our underwriting business plan to meet corporate goals and objectives within our underwriting appetite and adhering to all applicable guidelines Managing the origination, analysis, structuring, negotiation, binding and documentation of transactions Prospecting and developing business in specialty lines of business, with a focus on credit, transaction liability and cyber Liaising with, and coordinating contributions from, other departments required for prudent underwriting and compliance with our risk appetite, eg legal, actuarial, finance and accounting, risk Overseeing the risk profile of the book of business, including working with the Risk and Underwriting leadership to manage exposure aggregations and to stay within tolerances Managing and developing client and broker relationships Assisting with managing the external resources used to enhance our underwriting capabilities (principally our MGA relationships) Assisting with individual deal and portfolio reporting for senior management and other internal and external constituencies Supporting the management of strategic initiatives at the direction of the Bermuda CEO Mentoring and training junior team members Assisting with ad hoc tasks as required Your qualifications, skills, and experience must include: Bachelor's degree or post-graduate qualification in actuarial science, mathematics, or engineering, actuarial qualification preferred 10+ years' industry experience in either reinsurance, insurance, or finance In-depth understanding and experience in analysing and underwriting a broad range of specialty lines of business, including credit, transaction liability, cyber and structured reinsurance Exceptional quantitative/analytic skills Strong personal time management and project management skills Demonstrable ability to understand unfamiliar lines of business quickly and to handle multiple responsibilities Self-motivated and detail-oriented with effective communication and interpersonal skills Able to work long hours, including out of hours commitments and travel as required, to meet objectives and tight deadlines
