This role involves planning, overseeing and executing compliance activities. This includes international tax compliance activities, audits, and enforcement with regard to taxpayer filings and submissions to ensure accuracy, transparency and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. Additionally, the individual in this role will manage the audit and exchange of information with local and international agencies. Key Duties and Responsibilities Include overseeing the daily activity of the Taxpayer Services and Compliance Division, ensuring that appropriate policies and procedures are developed and implemented, overseeing the execution of the Authority’s automatic exchange of information (e.g., FATCA, CRS compliance strategy and Economic Substance reporting requirements), managing the corporate tax registration process, ensuring the accurate collection and recording of tax receipts and maintenance of taxpayer data, establishing audit frameworks and procedures, developing enforcement and collections programmes, and leading the execution of audits.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, Law, or a related field is required, Professional certification such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or ACCA; or a postgraduate qualification (e.g., Master’s degree) in a relevant discipline is an asset, sound knowledge of internal audit standards, risk management frameworks, and compliance methodologies, familiarity with economic substance requirements, knowledge of international accounting, auditing and compliance frameworks (e.g., IFRS, ISA, COSO), minimum 7 years’ experience in tax compliance, audit or a related field, demonstrated experience in leading audits, and proven track record of working with tax authorities or within large-scale tax environments
