On behalf of our client, we are seeking a motivated Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily operations, and ensure efficient materials handling, including receiving, storing and distribution, and assisting with the monitoring and efficient workflow while assuring accuracy within the retail store and its warehouses. Must have a strong inventory management background on retail distribution and highly knowledgeable in inventory systems.Reporting to the Inventory Manager, the ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse management, strong leadership and communication skills and a commitment to safety and customer service. Responsibilities include supervising staff, maintaining stock levels and ensuring the smooth flow of goods in and out of the warehouse.Essential Functions:Assist with the inventory tracking system by reviewing and checking record of deliveries, shipments and analyzes items for sale and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages.Supervise the warehouse team in receiving items from suppliers, reconcile discrepancies as noted and immediately provide a report to the Inventory Manager to inform suppliers.Assist with implementing new inventory control methods or technology as needed to improve efficiency.Ensure security over all merchandise and report any discrepancies.Making sure that the merchandise is available and displayed properly in accordance with company standards.Responsible for the proper location and organization of inventory and ensure that store shelves are stocked properly.Actively conduct cycle count as necessary to ensure accuracy of inventory.Report on inventory levels, supply chain progress and procedural efficiency.Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment, while maintaining safety standards.Assist with preparing monthly reports and analysis concerning key information and report to the Inventory Manager.Coordinate dispatch to accomplish daily delivery requirements as needed to achieve customer satisfaction.Driving to and from warehouses and customer deliveries.Assist with semi-annual and annual stocktaking as directed.Other ad-hoc jobs as directed.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:Full-time position needed. Flexible hours required, usually unloading/receiving of shipments done on Sundays when there is no operation. However, the minimum hours of work per week will be 40 hours.Required Education and Experience:Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a construction-related field, where inventory Supervisory skills formed a major part of the role.Strong Microsoft Office suite experience.Proficiency in using warehouse management systems.Strong attention to detail with information produced being complete and accurate.Willing to work longer hours, weekends and public holidays as required to meet deadlines and to address urgent matters as they arise.Solid understanding of health and safety requirements in a warehouse environment.Excellent self-motivation, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong planning and problem-solving skills.Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks.
