Reporting to the Group Financial Controller the role of Financial Controller offers an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and responsibilities will evolve as the company continues to grow. Primary Responsibilities: Overall financial management and financial reporting responsibility for the inwards reinsurance and insurance transactions. Working with underwriting, operations, claims, and reserving to ensure accurate and timely data flows, with appropriate controls in place throughout the chain. Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of the monthly management accounts and quarterly reporting packs for executive management and the Board. Ensuring accurate and timely completion of BMA statutory filings including UK GAAP statutory financial statements, BSCR, FCR, input to CISSA, quarterly filings and any additional data requested by the BMA. Preparation of cash flow projections for technical and non-technical balances. Cash management. Assist with the preparation of the annual budget, quarterly forecast, and analysis against actuals. Participate in the assessment and reporting of capital and solvency returns, and the calculation and monitoring of the capital position. Implementing and reporting against a financial control framework. Extensive experience reviewing and interpreting reinsurance contracts in accordance with UK and US GAAP. Oversight of investment accounting and reporting. Ensuring compliance with the BMA code of conduct and all legislative and regulatory requirements. Responsibility for managing the relationship with the external auditors. Liaising with tax advisors in relation to transfer pricing, DPT, and Bermuda CIT. Oversight of a third-party administrator, ensuring deliverables are on time and completed to a high standard. Responsible for setting up and monitoring new workflows and processes as the business grows. Other ad-hoc projects as required.
