Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; professional insurance designation (e.g., CPCU, ACII, ARM) strongly preferred. Minimum 10 years of casualty underwriting experience with a recognized insurance or reinsurance organization, including at least 10 years focused on Excess Casualty, Umbrella Liability, or Bermuda Casualty market business. Demonstrated expertise underwriting large and complex casualty risks, with excess-layer placements above primary attachments. Proven record of profitable portfolio management and business development. Advanced technical knowledge of casualty underwriting principles, policy structures, coverage analysis, U.S. liability exposures, litigation trends, social inflation, emerging risks. Strong analytical and financial assessment skills. Excellent negotiation, deal structuring, and broker relationship management capabilities. Proficiency in underwriting systems, portfolio management tools, and Microsoft Office applications. Strong leadership and people-management skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong familiarity with the Bermuda marketplace is preferred. Experience managing portfolios exceeding USD 50 million in annual premium is preferred.
