Bermuda Air Conditioning Ltd. is seeking qualified service and inspection technicians. The successful applicants should have knowledge and experience in the operation and repair of all fire protection systems, including piping, alarm valves, dry risers, diesel, electric fire pumps and suppression systems. The applicants must be capable of making field modifications to previously engineered systems in compliance with all NFPA standards.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with BFS, alarm companies, building owners and tenants to allow scheduling of service and inspections to be completed. Co-ordinate with all applicable authorities of dates and times.
• Install and commission all types of fire pumps.
• Must be able to conduct diesel generator tests, operate fire pump controller and fire panels.
• Should have basic fundamentals of electrical wiring and controls that operate all fire protection systems.
• Relay changes and quotes to the customers.
• Knowledge of computer-based software for inspection reporting purposes.
• Lay out full-scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment following blueprints. Plan pipe system lay-out, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Select pipe sizes, types and related materials (such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders) according to specifications. Experience in threading, and grooving. Attach pipes to walls, structures, using brackets, clamps, tools and equipment.
• Inspect, examine and test installed systems and pipelines using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation or other methods. Modify, clean and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings and related machines and equipment following specifications, using hand and power tools.
• Responsible for the operation of the fire protection sprinkler systems consisting of pressure reducing, gate and butterfly valves and all fire protection/suppression and fire control systems, including sprinkler water lines, standpipes and hose connections to sprinkler systems, air lines, jockey pumps, fire pumps, electric, diesel powered and standpipes connected to sprinkler systems, etc.
