The Revenue Accountant, under the direction of the Director of Revenue Cycle Management, assists in the daily management and operations of the Revenue Cycle Team to ensure the integrity of the revenue cycle processes.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with monitoring all revenue cycle reports on a daily, monthly, quarterly and annual basis; investigates any discrepancies and takes the lead in ensuring that corrective actions are taken to resolve the discrepancies.
Assisting with analytical support to the revenue cycle process which includes designing and maintaining the necessary controls to ensure completeness and accuracy of all revenue cycle processes across BHB.
Assisting with communications between interdependent groups such as billing, credit & collections, admitting, clinical areas, HIMS etc. to improve the understanding and execution of the revenue cycle process.
Making recommendations to the Director of Revenue Cycle Management regarding the modifications, enhancements of the revenue cycle process.
Assisting the Director of Revenue Cycle Management in the preparation and reporting on key performance indicators in relationship to the revenue cycle
Creating and recommending revenue cycle policies to improve internal control deficiencies.
Analysing departmental revenue, using statistical and trend data to support expectations and help identify gaps in revenue recognition
Supervise and provide guidance to Revenue Cycle staff
Qualifications &/ Registration required:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics or related field with five years post qualification experience
CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent and possess membership in good standing with the appropriate professional organization
Three (3) years managerial experience in a revenue generating environment. Previous hospital or healthcare experience would be an asset.
Experience working, managing and reconciling large volumes of data efficiently
Proven experience in Audit, preparation of financial statements, notes and working papers
