Key responsibilities include: Reports Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology specimens and autopsies in both hospital and coroners cases Performs gross and microscopic examinations of pathological specimens Responsible for provision of day-to-day advice and directions for Anatomic Pathology Staff Provides with others a comprehensive Anatomical Pathology service and Autopsy service to BHB in accordance with existing BHB standard policies and operating procedures Assists with the writing and maintenance of appropriate departmental policies and procedures and ensures continued compliance with Joint Commission International Accreditation requirements Assists with quality improvement practices, and outcome measurements. Monitor such activities through regular audits and reviews Qualifications &/ Registration required: Minimum of 5 years postgraduate experience Professional qualification and Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology or Histopathology or equivalent Current registration with Medical Council in relevant jurisdiction Must be eligible to register with the Bermuda Medical Council and eligible for hospital privileges Pre-employment substance abuse screening is mandatory for all successful candidates.
