The Financial Controller is responsible for leading the Somerset Group's financial reporting and accounting functions, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial information across multiple jurisdictions and reporting frameworks. Key responsibilities include managing general ledgers, preparing financial statements under IFRS, Bermuda statutory, and NAIC frameworks, overseeing tax and regulatory reporting, managing reinsurance administration and operations, and providing leadership to a team of 5+ accounting professionals.

Requirements

Professional accounting designation (ACCA, CA, CPA or equivalent); 7 years' post qualification experience with at least 2 years working with Life & Annuity products; Strong knowledge of IFRS financial reporting; Deep understanding of accounting for insurance and reinsurance contracts; Experience operating in a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction environment.
