The successful candidate will teach Spanish in the Primary School, working with students from Junior Kindergarten through to Upper Primary Grades, with a focus on developing communicative competence and fostering a strong appreciation of language and culture in a supportive, inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities Teach Spanish across Primary School levels Design group and project-based learning instruction in Spanish to meet individual and group needs in the classroom Use a variety of assessment and evaluation approaches aligned with competency-based and 21st-century assessment practices Integrate information technology effectively to enhance language learning Use an online grading system and contribute to the creation and ongoing refinement of schemes of work and shared resources Co-construct with students a foreign language learning environment that establishes high standards, fosters belonging, and upholds inclusivity and safety Implement the new Modern Foreign Language curriculum in Primary School focusing on developing students' communicative competence from pre-A1 to A2. Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities and the broader life of the School Willingness to provide cover for absences and/or advisory responsibilities as required Minimum Qualifications, Experience & Skills A recognized graduate qualification at the university level, with appropriate academic credentials demonstrating expertise in the discipline A minimum of three years' teaching experience Licensure with, or eligibility for licensure by, the Bermuda Educators Council Demonstrate a strong understanding the Common European Framework of Reference for Language or the American Council of the Teaching of Foreign Languages standards. Familiarity with international language proficiency exams and certifications such as DELE is an asset. A reflective, lifelong learner committed to staying current with subject knowledge, pedagogy, and resources A responsive practitioner able to adapt teaching strategies and learning experiences as needed Highly professional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work positively with all stakeholders Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving school environment Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the Mission, Vision, and Strategic Vision of Saltus Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, diplomacy, and tact Commitment to student safeguarding, wellbeing, and child protection best practices A positive presence within a collaborative school culture Relevant student safety certifications (e.g., SCARS, First Aid/CPR/ AED) are required or must be obtained A clean criminal record
