The successful candidate brings experience teaching Computing and Robotics across the middle and senior school years, with the breadth of expertise to teach iGCSE, Advanced Placement Computer Science, or equivalent programs, and to support courses aligned with the British Columbia Curriculum where applicable Responsibilities Ability to design and deliver engaging, student-centred learning experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, and deep understanding Ability to empower students to think critically, creatively, and ethically in an Al-enabled world, buildin building foundations in computational thinking and responsible technology use Ability to design meaningful, technology-rich learning experiences that support inquiry, problem-solving, and real-world application. Deliver engaging instruction in in Computer Programming for Grades 11 & 12, covering foundational computer science concepts including hardware, number systems, (binary and hexadecimal), Boolean logic, data structures, and object-oriented programming (OOP) using languages such as Python and/or Java Guide students in developing complex, real-world projects (e.g., games, applications, and web-based solutions) while introducing key technology pathways such as web and app development, data science, artificial ficial intelligence, and cybersecurity, preparing students for advanced study and future careers in technology. Understanding of digital citizenship and Al ethics, with the ability to support students in making thoughtful decisions related to data use, bias, and online participation Ability to foster student agency, collaboration, communication, and reflection through purposeful use of technology Ability to create a differentiated, inclusive learning environment in which individual learners thrive Design and deliver instruction using a range of approaches, including inquiry-based, problem-based, project-based learning, and direct instruction to meet diverse student needs. Implement varied assessment and evaluation practices aligned with inquiry-based learning, including facilitating student-led conferences and maintaining accurate, timely records through online reporting system Willingness to contribute to co-curricular programs and participate actively in the broader life of the school Ensure compliance with safeguarding requirements, which include and not limited to Saltus vaccination policy Minimum Qualifications, Experience & Skills University-level post-secondary qualification with appropriate academic credentials with demonstrating expertise in Computer Science and Technology Education A minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience at the middle and/or senior school level Eligible to obtain licensure with the Bermuda Educators Council and the British Columbia Teacher Certification https://teacherregulation. gov.bc.ca Commitment to ongoing professional growth as a reflective practitioner who remains current in subject knowledge, pedagogy, and educational research Flexibility, adaptability, and professional judgement in a dynamic, fast-paced educational environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated through positive collaboration with colleagues and engagement with students and families Professional discretion and the ability to handle confidential information with care and tact Demonstrated alignment with the Mission, Values, and Strategic Vision of Saltus Grammar School Relevant student safety certifications (e.g., SCARS, First Aid/CPR/ AED) are preferred or must be obtained A clean criminal record
