Reporting to the Director of Innovation and Technology, the Educational Technology and Innovation Coach will inspire and empower educators and students from Primary to Secondary through the effective integration of technology, digital fluency, and innovative instructional practices.
Champion technology integration across K-12 by collaborating with teachers to implement innovative, student-centred learning strategies
Collaborate with teachers to design authentic, relevant, and curriculum-aligned learning experiences
Design and deliver professional learning opportunities that enhance teaching and learning through technology
Co-plan, co-teach, and co-assess technology-enhanced learning experiences with teachers
Model the design and implementation of impactful, technology-rich lessons and activities
Support purposeful online and blended learning, digital content use, and collaborative networks to extend student learning
Empower teachers to independently integrate technology to improve student engagement and learning outcomes
Collaborate with the Technology Department to ensure seamless integration of educational technology into curriculum and classroom practice
Develop, implement and support a K-12 Digital Citizenship framework that promotes responsible, ethical, and informed technology use
Identify and utilise technology tools that foster collaboration, creativity, and independent learning for students and staff
Design and facilitate ongoing professional learning sessions that support staff growth in instructional practice, educational technology, and digital innovation
Identify, implement, and evaluate Al-driven tools to enhance instruction, assessment, and operational efficiency
Support the implementation of Saltus' Al policy and operating guidelines by coaching teachers and leaders on appropriate, transparent, and pedagogically sound uses of Al
Guide educators and students in the ethical, responsible, and developmentally appropriate use of Al, including issues of bias, academic integrity, data privacy, and authorship
Collaborate with school leaders to embed Al literacy and critical thinking into teaching, learning, and assessment in alignment with competency-based curriculum frameworks, including the BC Curriculum and Core Competencies
Align technology, innovation, and Al initiatives with Saltus' Strategic Plan, ensuring coherence across teaching, learning, and school priorities
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology, or a related field
Master's degree in Education, Educational Technology, or a related field (preferred)
Qualified teacher with a minimum of five years' classroom teaching experience
Proven experience in educational technology integration, instructional coaching, or curriculum development
Strong knowledge and application of current educational technology tools, blended learning models, and digital learning practices
Knowledge of digital citizenship frameworks and best practices
Familiarity with ISTE Standards for Educators and Students (preferred)
Ability to troubleshoot basic technology issues and collaborate effectively with IT teams
Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively and inspire innovation across diverse contexts
Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and a growth mindset.
Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and school priorities
Highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Relevant student safety certifications (e.g., SCARS, First Aid/CPR/ AED) are preferred or must be obtained
A clean criminal record
