Sales Team Leader

The purpose of this position is to manage the daily operations in the retail store and oversee the effective functioning of the Sales Team to ensure that sales targets are being met, along with the professional growth and development and wellbeing of the Sales Team Creates a professional environment in which all team members provide effective and efficient customer service to all Gibbons Company customers. Achieves weekly sales goals to meet Gibbons Company annual sales plans. Opens and closes all stores on time and fully prepared for the days business. Maintains strict controls on all money handling functions. Securely close all stores, bank money and lock cash bags in the safe. Develops the optimum cost-effective shift schedule that meets the demands of the business within budget allocation. Daily ensures that fitting rooms are cleared, hold rails checked, stock is replenished from the stock rooms to the floor, excess of receipts are placed in an organized manner in the stock areas, and that all sets are matched and returned to the sales floor for selling. Troubleshoots all POS issues or credit card authorization issues immediately to ensure all store operations are functional. Bring any recurring problem to the attention of Retail Operations Manager. Ensures integrity of POS and cash handling functions by training team members to their appropriate level of security. Trains and onboards the Sales Associates in job functions and merchandise knowledge. Develops a committed sales team that fully understands the company culture and objectives. Motivates, trains, coaches and counsels team members in selling techniques, rules and regulations, business dress code requirements, policy and procedures, security and cash handling. Communicates with team members on a daily basis to inform them of sales targets, work priorities, store promotions and initiatives, and all other relevant information to ensure a productive and successful day. Motivates sales team to achieve their respective sales targets, recognise successes, and coach those who are falling short. Using the correct protocol and in a timely manner, disciplines individuals who do not adhere to rules, regulations, procedures, or fail to complete tasks or assignments. Performs annual appraisals for the sales team. Maintains a high level of inventory care and control to minimize loss or damage. Ensures all POS are fully operational and manage POS functions to secure the integrity of the systems to ensure uninterrupted business activity. Prepares stores for annual inventory. Daily, ensures that merchandise recovery & preparation is performed to achieve optimum level of merchandise presentation. Notifies merchandising team of any irregularities in ticket price, UPC codes or failure of the POS to recognize any style in the system. Works alongside and oversee the accurate execution of price changes on goods to ensure the timely and successful completion of the task. Paperwork must be returned to buyers upon completion. Works equitably and harmoniously with fellow Team Leaders. Effectively communicates with relevant internal departments/department heads providing feedback, responding to requests and imparting crucial information that would result in action taking decisions. Communicates daily with fellow team leaders to prioritise tasks and fairly allocate work between each other. Works with other team leaders to perform current process and develop best practice for all sales floor operating procedures. Works with logistics team to prepare the store for incoming goods, specials events and seasonal activity with the objective of providing professional customer service.

Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or a related field (required) Knowledge of and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Have at least 5 years of Supervisory level or higher retail experience (required) Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and reach above the shoulder. The ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds regularly.
