The Recreational Therapy Aide supports the Senior Activities Coordinator and Recreational Therapist in planning, organising, and delivering therapeutic recreation programmes for clients of the Intellectual Disabilities Department. Key responsibilities include: assisting in the planning and running of groups and individual activities; liaising with Activity Coordinator and relevant Therapists; assisting in the formulation of programs and encouraging client involvement; assisting with documentation in client charts; assisting with scheduling and daily maintenance of the activity bus; and ensuring the activity area is prepared for scheduled programs.

Requirements

High School Certificate required. Recreation/Therapy Activity Aide certification. Certified Nursing Associate certificate or equivalent, preferred. Minimum of 3 years experience working with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Valid Bermuda Community Service (CS) Driver's License required. Current CPR and PIT certifications. Membership or eligibility for professional association membership is desirable. Pre-employment substance abuse screening is mandatory.
