Our client, Athora Life Re, is a specialist reinsurance solutions provider for European life insurers, and is part of the Athora Group of companies. Athora Life Re has been successfully operating in Bermuda since the end of 2017, and works closely with the wider Athora Group to develop, execute and manage asset intensive reinsurance business in Europe. The Reporting Actuary will report to the Chief Actuary. The role will work collaboratively with the finance, risk, and actuarial teams across the reinsurance business, as well as Athora's shared service functions. The role is based in Bermuda and may require some occasional travel to Europe Key Contribution Areas: • Responsible for the delivery of financial reporting results for Athora Life Re (mainly but not limited to IFRS and EBS). • Co-ordinating closing timelines with stakeholders to ensure results are delivered in a timely manner and to ensure all inputs are provided in the timeframe required to produce results. Performance of validation of results, in addition to review of ad-hoc analysis such as assumption and sensitivity testing. Performance and understanding of Analysis of Change between reporting quarters. • Working closely with the Modelling team, Balance Sheet Management, Risk and Group Actuarial teams. • Support the embedding of the risk culture within the Actuarial Reporting team. Provide balance sheet impact analysis to support the pricing and execution of new business. Support the preparation of Board and committee reports. Engage with Group committees and working groups to ensure the alignment of local activities with Group wide policies. Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience: • Qualified actuary with a minimum of 5 years life (re)insurance experience, preferably with familiarity of asset intensive structures. Understanding of the risks underlying asset intensive life (re)insurance business. • Experience working in an actuarial reporting function required with a strong understanding of the EBS and IFRS17 reporting requirements. • Demonstrable understanding and experience working with asset-liability cashflow models is required. • Demonstrated ability to analyse, interpret and present information and data in a practical format and articulate to all levels. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams. • Highly proactive and organized individual, with excellent self-management skills to ensure timely delivery of multiple projects. • Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to engage on unfamiliar project topics and rapidly learn new subject matter.

Requirements

Qualified actuary with a minimum of 5 years life (re)insurance experience, preferably with familiarity of asset intensive structures.
