The Assistant Vice President, Claims is a technical claims position that will work closely with the claims team and insurance underwriters. The ideal candidate will have worked directly with insurance companies or have hands on experience with excess casualty and professional lines claims arising from product liability, contractors, manufacturing and distribution, commercial auto, hospitality, and premises-related general liability claims. This role will also provide oversight of Ascot's external TPAs utilized for administrative and operational support.

Requirements

Experienced lawyer with a Juris Doctor (JD) and a minimum of 5-7 years of technical experience in insurance coverage and liability claims. Proven track record in handling high-exposure and complex claims, including making reserve recommendations to stakeholders. Proven negotiating skills and strategic litigation tactics. Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills. Staff management and TPA management background is a plus. Ability to work well under pressure, including significant overtime and weekends.
