Financial Controller

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Controller is a key member of the management team and works closely with the Chief Financial Officer and other senior leaders to develop, monitor, and evaluate corporate strategy with a focus on bottom-line performance, working capital optimization, and enhancing shareholder value. This role provides timely, accurate financial insights to support sound decision-making and effective execution of strategic initiatives across the Company and its related Trust entities. What you will do: Review, document, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency Evaluate retail operating strategies to maximize margins and identify cost-saving opportunities Oversee daily accounting functions and reconciliations across all entities Lead the timely preparation of monthly financial statements, quarterly board reporting packages, and year-end audit schedules Manage daily cash flow, banking relationships, and short- and long-term financial forecasting Drive the annual budgeting and planning process to align financial resources with strategic business objectives Safeguard the organization's financial integrity by ensuring legal and regulatory compliance Provide oversight and coordination of Information Systems and related financial policies Supervise and mentor accounting team members, fostering a high-performing and collaborative department culture Serve as the company's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) Data Privacy Officer, ensuring adherence to data protection policies and requirements Conduct valuations of potential acquisitions to ensure alignment with investment criteria and strategic objectives Perform other duties as required to support the overall effectiveness of the finance function Your Requirements: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification is required Demonstrated experience in retail and property management sectors Knowledge of international tax principles and practices Proven expertise in cash management and investment oversight Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) and strong overall financial systems acumen Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills High level of integrity, discretion, and professional judgment Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours when required Pearman Watlington is an Equal Opportunity Employer and has a Drug Free Workplace Policy Qualified applicants should apply in writing, enclosing resume, two (2) written references and/or certificates of qualifications to this link:
