Chief Risk Officer

HODLife Insurance Company Ltd., is looking for a Chief Risk Officer who will report to the General Manager, Bermuda Operations and with additional reporting responsibilities to the Chief Executive Officer and the Risk Committee of the Board of Directors. This is an Executive level position responsible for the overall risk management of the Company, including leading the development, implementation, and oversight of the insurer's enterprise-wide risk management framework. Key Responsibilities This role ensures that all material risks are identified, assessed, monitored, and managed in accordance with the Bermuda Monetary Authority's Insurance Code of Conduct and internal governance standards. Ensures that risk frameworks and policies that address all material risks are embedded and maintained throughout the company and its subsidiaries. Works with the management team to ensure the effective operations of the risk management system. Report to the Board and Risk Committee on risk management matters. Oversees the Company's Internal Economic Capital Model, ensuring that it appropriately addresses all material risks. Performs wider risk assessment and reviews, including designing and leading the stress and scenario testing program. Ensures effective internal controls are in place to mitigate risks across all business units. Advises the Board and senior management on emerging risks and strategic risk exposures. Serves as the primary liaison with the Bermuda Monetary Authority on risk-related matters and to ensure compliance with the Insurance Code of Conduct and other applicable regulations. Required Skills and Experience This is an important leadership role working within a small, highly functioning team, requiring strong commercial acumen, technical ability, intellect and excellent communications skills, to ensure that risk frameworks and policies are embedded and maintained throughout the company and its subsidiaries; Bachelor's degree in risk Management, Finance, Actuarial Science, Accounting or related field. Professional certification (e.g., FRM, PRM, CPA, CIA) is an asset. Minimum 8 years of experience in risk management within the insurance or financial services industry. Working understanding of regulatory frameworks, especially the Bermuda Insurance Code of Conduct. Proven leadership and strategic thinking capabilities. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. A strong sense of integrity and high ethical standards. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external regulators.
