Senior Hnw Underwriting Manager

Our client is a leading global expanding its high-net-worth life business from Bermuda, serving international clients across Asia and the Middle East. Bermuda is at the center of this strategy, providing regulatory credibility and a global platform for growth. They are seeking a Senior HNW Underwriting Manager to join its Bermuda operations. The role involves underwriting sophisticated HNW cases, ensuring regulatory alignment, and delivering seamless service to brokers and partners. This is a rare chance to step into a senior role in a global HNW business, where you will liaise directly with reinsurers and influence underwriting strategy as the platform scales internationally. Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Underwrite HNW business, including assessment of residential, financial, medical, and AML/Source of Wealth risks, while maintaining service turnaround times within company SLAs. Manage complex cases, escalating referrals where needed, and liaise with reinsurers for facultative underwriting or second opinions. Ensure compliance with Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) regulations, company policies, and Group underwriting/AML standards. Maintain strong knowledge of life insurance products, regulatory compliance (AML, CDD, KYC), and work closely with case managers to deliver excellent service to brokers and distribution partners. Contribute to underwriting projects, dashboard reporting, and the development of systems and process enhancements. Candidate Requirements: • 15+ years' life underwriting experience, including 2+ years in HNW with international brokers. Expertise in cross-border risks, complex medical impairments, and Bermuda regulatory environment. Proven success working with brokers/agents and on underwriting-related projects. • University degree and professional designations (FLMI, FALU, LOMA, ALU, etc.). Strong interpersonal, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills (English required; Chinese an advantage). Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
