Nautilus Indemnity Holdings Limited, a Bermuda based captive insurance company, provides insurance to one of the world's leading professional services organisations. The Claims Counsel will report to the Senior Claims Counsel and General Counsel and is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring of claims and management of the Associate Claims Counsel and a team of 2 claims administrators. The role will require regular interaction with assured firms and their external counsel on complex coverage and claims management issues. The role includes responsibility for maintaining relationships with key (and frequently very senior) members of the risk management and legal teams at the professional services organisations.
Requirements
Strong academic qualifications - 2:1 University Degree; Qualified UK/Commonwealth lawyer (6-12 years PQE); Experience of dealing with complex insurance and reinsurance law issues; Experience of litigating and defending large and complex claims; Experience leading other claims/legal professionals; Insurance claims experience; A good working knowledge of document review/e-discovery platforms; Familiarity with data privacy requirements; High degree of competence with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; Ability to research complex legal issues and draft clear advice; Strong interpersonal abilities and communication skills; Attention to detail, accuracy and strong organisational skills; Must demonstrate capability of working in demanding situations; Ability to work overtime on short notice; Willingness to travel when required.
