Works under general direction of the DON to provide personal care and assistance to assigned residents, enabling them to maintain a quality of life within limits to their health status and / or the ageing. Primary responsibilities include personal care, assistance with bathroom/meals, collecting specimens, recording vitals, monitoring blood sugar, and observing/reporting on resident status. The post holder must be willing to work on a shift basis and participate in the activities programme.
Requirements
High School diploma; Certification as a Nursing Assistant; Must be registered with the Bermuda Nursing Council; Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a CNA; Previous experience working at a hospital or Rest / Nursing Home setting would be an asset; Good interpersonal and communication skills; Patience and understanding needed to work with the elderly; Strength to lift and transfer residents.
