Pricing Actuary

Legal & General Resources Bermuda Ltd. is a Bermuda-based specialist life reinsurer providing life reinsurance solutions to clients in the UK, Europe, the US, and Canada. As a member of the New Business Team, the Pricing Actuary will lead pricing of pension risk transfer opportunities and other relevant life re-insurance opportunities in all territories. This role will support longevity assumption setting and underwriting activities in addition to supporting the continuous improvement of our current pricing systems and processes and the development and implementation of new ones. The Pricing Actuary will develop highly collaborative and effective relationships at all levels within the organization and as well as externally with clients, prospects and retrocessionaires. Key accountabilities include: • Lead pricing of pension risk transfer opportunities and other relevant life re-insurance opportunities in all territories. • Support longevity assumption setting and underwriting activities, working closely with Head of Pricing • Support pricing systems and processes including the review of existing systems and the development and implementation of new ones. • Support the team with the writing of Committee and Board papers • Support relationships with clients, prospects and retrocessionaires in all territories. • Provide actuarial support to other areas of the business, including contributing to business planning, reporting and ad hoc business requests and projects. • Coach others, to achieve and maintain optimal employee engagement. • Develop and maintain highly collaborative and effective relationships at all levels within the organization. Skills and Experience required: • Must be an Associate or Fellow of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries (or similar, e.g. ASA/FSA or ACIA/FCIA). • A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience within the re/insurance industry or pension consulting industry, 2 of which must be directly within pricing life/annuity business. • Demonstrated understanding of technical aspects of external regulatory reporting, capital and solvency requirements and IFRS reporting. • Demonstrated ability to interpret financial information, identify key issues based on this information and propose controls and measures to address them. • Ability to design and implement efficient, robust and effective actuarial processes, incorporating and managing appropriate controls.
