Vice President, Excess Casualty

Duties & Responsibilities Analysis and underwriting of excess casualty catastrophe risk exposures. Analysis of coverage terms, conditions and policy forms. Negotiation of complex and varied coverage terms. Ability to develop manuscript wordings and endorsements for legal approval. Development of a profitable portfolio of excess casualty business comprising clients in the Fortune 2000 business segment. Existing broker relationships in Bermuda, the U.S, and London to help facilitate personal and corporate goals. Representation of Liberty Mutual Bermuda in client meetings and the communication of Liberty's capabilities, goals and objectives. Mentor and train junior staff on technical underwriting and contractual issues. Attending speaking engagements as required. Frequent travel on short notice, as required. Other related duties as assigned. Skills, Qualifications, & Experience A thorough understanding of General Liability, to include Umbrella and Excess, Product Liability, Construction Liability, Healthcare and Employer's Liability is required. A minimum of 8 years casualty experience handling Fortune 2000 clients. A thorough understanding of Casualty forms, both claims made, occurrence and Bermuda market policy forms. An extensive knowledge of, and experience with, retail and wholesale insurance intermediaries in Bermuda, London and the United States. Previous experience and understanding of captive insurance companies would be beneficial. Previous management and/or mentoring experience is preferred. The successful candidate will also; Have the ability to make decisions according to preset underwriting guidelines and authorities. Have strong interpersonal skills and be able to maintain effective working relationships with other employees working in a strong team environment. Have strong marketing, negotiation and presentation skills. Have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work. Be highly computer literate.
