Actuary

As a core member of the Corporate Development business unit, this position supports the management of existing client relationships as well as business development initiatives. Job Responsibilities Support the rate setting process for both US and international third party cedants, including working with the client management lead and the Pricing team to develop rate recommendations Maintain product and rate databases and own the production of market, competitor and performance analysis to inform both internal and cedant discussions Produce materials for management and committee updates Research and analyze potential new markets, companies and products for reinsurance opportunities Work with primary deal leads to support new business efforts as required, including analyzing due diligence materials and liaising with the pricing team on the production of indicative quotes for new transactions Produce product and transaction summaries, highlighting key actuarial, reporting and operational agreements Assist with any other department projects as required Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in mathematics or any quantitative field and Associate qualification of a widely recognized actuarial body with FSA or FIA actuarial qualification preferred 6+ years' relevant experience including a wide range of experience across all aspects of life and annuity reinsurance Solid understanding of insurance liabilities with knowledge of fixed rate and indexed annuities preferred Proven application of quantitative skills Excellent stakeholder management skills with prior experience of effectively communicating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences Proactive and adaptable with excellent attention to detail, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and a desire for ongoing learning and development Knowledge of SAS or other programming language preferred Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications Excellent oral and written English language skills
