Our client, Kuvare Services Bermuda Ltd. ("KSB"), a Bermuda-based service provider to affiliated and regulated Bermuda-domiciled long-term reinsurers, is seeking an AVP, Actuary to support KSB's continued growth. Reporting to the Head of Actuarial Valuation, the successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the success of GAAP financial reporting within the Actuarial team and support other functions within KSB. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Performing numerous tasks for valuation, inforce management, capital and business planning, risk, and investments, which include but are not limited to: Manage and accountable for the end-to-end production, analysis and explanation/ attribution of KSB's quarterly US GAAP reserves and balances, financials and management reporting for senior management and the Board. Manage and drive Kuvare's LDTI implementation for Bermuda entities: conduct parallel runs, analyze and explain results under LDTI vs current GAAP, document and implement new processes, controls and workflows as needed to replace current GAAP processes. Work with Group resources in Actuarial, Finance, IT, and PMO under multiple workstreams including upstream and downstream Data, Policy & Decisions, Modeling, Reporting, and Presentation & Disclosures. Manage the production and analysis of monthly US Stat reserves for Third Partycedant. Manage the production of the business plan through the development of new models, assumptions, and valuation processes for new deals, along with the continuous enhancement of actuarial processes and controls by automating workflows and increasing operational and reporting efficiency. Manage the GAAP audit actuarial process and serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including the Kuvare Group, cedants, auditors, and consultants. Serve as a subject matter expert on US GAAP (LDTI) and US Stat. Oversee actual to expected experience analysis, monitor and evaluate the performance of inforce deals against pricing, and develop and propose updates to GAAP assumptions, as necessary. Support the quarterly and year-end regulatory reporting to the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA). Stay abreast of industry developments, financial reporting and regulatory changes, market trends and understand and interpret new requirements and standards affecting GAAP and Stat bases. Demonstrate a continued desire to learn and take ownership of production processes and projects as a team leader, including sharing knowledge across the team. Manage ad-hoc requests for supplemental financial and reporting information; and Manage and coach actuarial staff and external consultants. Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Risk Management, or similar. FSA or similar designation; or ASA with 15 years' experience. Demonstrate a minimum of 10+ years relevant full-time actuarial experience, working directly for a life/annuity (re)insurance company or consulting organization. Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, LDTI, and US Stat. Strong Excel and R/Python/SQL or other data management skills. Strong knowledge of annuities (FDAS, FIAS, PAs) and life products. Excellent critical thinking, sound judgement and problem-solving skills. Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to effectively manage staff and prioritize competing deadlines, projects, and ad-hoc requests as they arise. Excellent business and collaboration, leadership, and communication skills both written and oral, and Willingness and capacity to work overtime, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, and on short notice as required to meet time-sensitive tasks.
