The Manager-Department of Professional Practice (DPP) will support audit teams of the KPMG Island Group (KIG) in enhancing the quality of audits. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Remaining abreast of accounting and auditing developments and emerging topics Responding to technical consultations and reviewing financial statements for compliance with accounting standards Identify emerging issues, conduct research, perform analysis and develop technical guidance Contribute to maintenance and creation of intellectual resources by monitoring sector developments and preparing updates to internal and external communications, publications and working papers Reviewing, developing and presenting training materials and delivering training. Assist with KIG DPP communications, including compilation of the monthly bulletin and special alerts issued. Candidates must have the following qualifications, skills and attributes: 1 year of experience in a public practice environment; An internationally recognized accounting qualification (such as CA, CPA or ACCA); Master's in Accounting preferred; Strong in-depth knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, IFRS and/or US GAAP preferred; Self-starter with ability to work under own initiative to meet deadlines; Proven technical competence-strong analytical and problem solving skills Personal effectiveness-strong organisational skills, ability to successfully manage projects, ability to work effectively within teams and independently, commitment to high performance and continuous improvement Strong communication skills - ability to explain complex ideas simply, convey key messages convincingly, experience preparing internal and/or external communications A high degree of competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Organized and methodical, with strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret information; and Commitment to building the reputation of KPMG through quality of work, knowledge and experience.
