Our Client is well-known and long-standing residential care facility in Bermuda with a focus on providing senior citizens with the highest standards of people-centred care. We are seeking individuals who will be able to bring extensive financial leadership experience so that this facility is able to provide top-level care. Working closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors, we are looking for someone who can be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial operations, including accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and internal controls, to ensure long-term financial sustainability, effective decision-making, and compliance with relevant regulations. This role provides strategic leadership for the organisation’s financial function, overseeing financial planning, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial modelling, while ensuring high-quality, timely financial reporting and analysis in line with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. The position plays a key role in supporting capital projects and fundraising initiatives and provides clear, practical financial insight to senior leadership and the Board to guide decision-making and long-term sustainability. The role leads the finance and IT functions and oversees outsourced day-to-day finance operations, including payroll, receivables, payables, banking, reconciliations, and financial systems. It is responsible for maintaining strong financial governance, accounting policies, internal controls, and effective vendor and technology management, while building trusted relationships with auditors, banks, and other external partners to ensure the organisation operates efficiently and with financial discipline.

Requirements

The successful candidate will hold a recognised accounting qualification with at least five years’ relevant experience, including financial leadership responsibility, ideally within a not-for-profit environment. Strong strategic financial thinking is essential, with the ability to translate analysis into sound execution, feasibility assessment, and informed decision-making. Familiarity with Canadian GAAP for not-for-profit organisations is considered an asset. The role requires deep knowledge of internal controls and best-practice financial management, alongside excellent judgement, problem-solving, and clear written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, senior management, and external partners, and be comfortable working with online banking, Microsoft Office, and financial systems such as QuickBooks and Blue Bison (or equivalent).
