On behalf of our client, H. Smale, we invite qualified candidates to apply for the position of: Live-Out Night Caregiver. Primary duties include full overnight support to an elderly gentleman, ensuring his safety, comfort, and wellbeing. Assist with night-time hygiene and mobility, administer prescribed night-time medication in line with care guidelines, and accurately record intake. Monitor the client, conduct checks, respond promptly to needs, and remain calm during emergencies or occasional night-time epileptic seizures. Maintain a safe environment and prevent falls and hazards. General housekeeping includes preparing simple snacks/drinks, light cleaning, laundry, and emptying trash. Complete clear documentation of care, observations, and incidents, and provide a thorough handover to daytime caregivers. Must be available for weekend and public holiday shifts and be willing to travel (including the USA) to accompany the client for medical purposes.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role in care-giving, home care, or healthcare support. Knowledge of personal care techniques and safe moving/handling with the ability to stay alert and attentive throughout the night. Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills are required with a strong understanding of dementia and elder care including experience of dealing with epileptic fits. First Aid/CPR certification and nursing background are essential. Candidates must be calm under pressure, reliable and punctual, respectful of privacy and dignity and able to work independently with compassion.
