We are currently seeking qualified candidates to be considered for the positions of staff, experienced staff, senior, manager, and senior manager in our financial services Audit practice in Bermuda.

Requirements

Staff and Experienced Staff - responsibilities and required experience: Adapt the audit approach to the changing client environment and demonstrate a thorough understanding of accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations Develop and maintain working relationships with client personnel and proactively maintain contact with the client throughout the year A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field Staff - this is an entry level role with no prior relevant experience required; must have a passion and interest in pursuing a career in audit as well as be actively pursuing or have a demonstrable plan for pursuing either the US or Canadian CPA designation Experienced Staff - A minimum of nine (9) months of recent relevant experience workingfor a public accounting firm; prior experience in the financial services industry would be an asset as well as an internationally recognized professional accounting certification, such as a CPA or equivalent; candidates who are in process of completing their professional accounting exams but have yet to become licensed/certified, will also be considered Seniors - responsibilities and required experience: Adapt the audit approach to the changing client environment and demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations Develop and maintain working relationships with client personnel and proactively maintain contact with the client throughout the year, as well as direct fieldwork, inform supervisors of the engagement status and manage staff performance Experience participating in engagement management, engagement execution and reporting, and client relationship-building A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field An internationally recognized professional accounting certification, such as a CPA or equivalent; candidates who are in process of completing their professional accounting exams but have yet to become licensed/certified, will also be considered. Partially certified hires are required to become certified before being eligible for promotion to manager A minimum of eighteen (18) months of recent relevant experience working for a public accounting firm; prior experience in the financial services industry is preferred Managers - responsibilities and required experience: Participate in performing audit procedures, especially focusing on complex and/or specialized issues, as well as collaborate to plan engagement objectives and an audit strategy that complies with professional standards and appropriately addresses risk Develop and maintain strong working relationships with client personnel and key business decision-makers throughout the year, as well as direct fieldwork, inform supervisors of the engagement status and manage staff performance Experience participating in engagement management, engagement execution and reporting, and client relationship-building Experience identifying new business opportunities at existing or potentially new clients A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field An internationally recognized professional accounting certification, such as a CPA or equivalent A minimum of four (4) years of recent relevant work experience within a public accounting firm; experience in the financial services industry is required Senior Managers - responsibilities and required experience: Provide guidance and participate in performing audit procedures, especially focusing on complex and/or specialized issues, as well as collaborate to plan engagement objectives and an audit strategy that complies with professional standards and appropriately addresses risk Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key business decision-makers throughout the year to communicate value and inform them of the firm's scope of services, and successfully monitor the engagement team against the budget Demonstrate a deep understanding of the client's industry and recognize key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments Conduct timely performance reviews and provide performance feedback/training Generate new business opportunities by developing ideas and solutions and achieve growth by understanding EY and its service lines and actively assessing/presenting ways to apply knowledge and services Experience participating in engagement management, engagement execution and reporting, and client relationship-building Experience identifying new business opportunities at existing or potentially new clients A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field An internationally recognized professional accounting certification, such as a CPA or equivalent A minimum of seven (7) years of recent relevant work experience within a public accounting firm, with demonstrated career progression and leadership skills; experience in the financial services industry is required The successful candidates must have strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, an ability to work a flexible schedule as overtime will be required, as well as a dedication to teamwork and integrity within a professional environment.
