Senior Marine Mammal Specialist

The Senior Marine Mammal Specialist is responsible for assisting in all day-to-day care and training of the animal collection and for providing quality interactive experiences for our guests with direction from the Manager of Marine Animals. Key duties include assisting with program development, managing animal training, performing interactions with guests, maintaining animal health, ensuring quality customer service, and supporting teamwork and communication within the department.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in marine biology, psychology, or related field preferred. 5 years of experience required. Knowledge of operant conditioning techniques for training behavior. Proficient swimmer and snorkeler, SCUBA and CPR Certification required. Excellent public speaking / guest services skills. Excellent problem solving skills. Must be a team player and foster positive attitudes among co-workers and in the workplace. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
