Temptations Café, in the historical town of St. George’s seeks a reliable and friendly individual to join their team as a Cashier / Barista. We have 2 temporary positions available. Successful incumbent MUST be available to work one or two days during the week (Monday - Friday) in addition to a Saturday or Sunday. Weekend shift will be alternated. In this role, you will greet and serve guests in a friendly and polite manner, prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages (coffees, teas, lattes, cappuccinos etc.), operate the cash register, assist with prep and breakdown, maintain a daily inventory of beverage stock, as well as clear tables, clean working areas, coffee machines and tabletops.

Requirements

The successful incumbent must possess a High School Leaving Certificate or equivalent; a minimum of 3 year’s retail, hospitality and/or customer service experience to include familiarity with using a cash register. Required competencies, skills and abilities include being able to work Saturdays, some Sundays and some holidays; being familiar with hygiene requirements and sanitary standards; having cash handling and register experience to include basic mathematical skills; the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language; a friendly and personable demeanor capable of developing a good rapport with customers; capability to work under pressure with a sense of urgency and good organizational skills; stamina to remain on your feet for extended periods; and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
