We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our growing five-star culinary team at The Loren Bermuda. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, precision, and a deep appreciation for Japanese culinary traditions, delivering exceptional guest experiences through beautifully crafted sushi and innovative menus. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES * Oversee the daily operations of the sushi station across all dining outlets, ensuring exceptional quality, consistency, and presentation. * Prepare a variety of high-quality sushi offerings, including rice preparation, rolling, slicing, and plating for dine-in, takeaway, and in-room dining. * Develop and execute innovative, seasonal sushi menus and specials that align with The Loren's culinary vision. * Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and organization in the sushi station at all times. Monitor food safety procedures, including temperature control, storage, and handling of all raw and cooked products. * Collaborate with the culinary team to integrate sushi offerings into broader menus and special events. Manage inventory, order supplies, receive deliveries, and track daily production levels. * Participate in monthly inventories and contribute to cost-control initiatives. * Assist in the training and development of junior kitchen staff and new team members. * Complete all opening and closing procedures of the sushi station and support restaurant operations as needed. * Provide exceptional guest interaction and engagement, offering insights into dishes and making personalized recommendations. * Ensure all food safety, quality, and health regulations are consistently followed. * Embrace a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and positive attitude. YOUR QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 3 years' experience in a high-end restaurant or luxury hospitality environment as a Sushi Chef, Senior Line Chef, or Head Sushi Chef. * Proven expertise in sushi preparation, knife skills, and Japanese culinary techniques. * Recognized culinary certifications or formal training in sushi preparation are preferred. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining exceptional quality standards. * A genuine passion for sushi and hospitality, with a desire to innovate and elevate the guest dining experience. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. * Able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative culinary team. * A charismatic, guest-facing personality is a plus. * Experience working in international five-star properties is highly desirable. * Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
