Marine Mammal Specialist Ii

The Marine Mammal Specialist II is responsible for training and day-to-day care of the animal collection and assisting in providing quality animal interaction experiences for our guests. Responsibilities include developing animal training skills, recognizing social compatibilities, performing in interactions with guests, handling assigned behavior and husbandry animal training, ensuring the highest quality of animal care, maintaining safety conditions, and maintaining customer service standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, marine biology or related field preferred. 3 years of experience required. Experience with marine mammal internship programs in accredited organization or 1 year of prior experience in a similar position. Knowledge of operant conditioning techniques for training behavior. SCUBA and CPR certified. Hands-on experience working with a variety of different animals recommended.
