Chief Of Psychiatry - Part Time

The Chief of Psychiatry will provide clinical direction and administrative leadership to achieve excellent programme outcomes. The successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of quality mental health care to clients of the programme. Key responsibilities include: Clinical Leadership and Quality of Care Promote and participate in the interdisciplinary clinical rounds at least once weekly comprising of not limited to psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing, pharmacy, social workers and allied health team Provide clinical leadership and resources for the development of best practice interdisciplinary clinical pathways and order sets along with monitor use and compliance Strategic Planning and Programme Development Works closely with Senior executive to advance and collaborate on the Organizations strategic Direction for improved overall Mental health care for the Bermuda community Collaborate with the Ministry of Health on high level Initiatives including continued review of the Mental Health Act with those who operationalize the Act and stakeholders Advisory and Communication Responsibilities Communicates hospital policies, standards, procedures, practices, and activities to physicians and psychologists and integrates their feedback into operational needs Acts as an advisor to the Chief of Staff, Officers of the Bermuda Hospitals Board, Professional Practice Leaders, Clinical Managers and other professional colleagues on medical and medical-legal matters related to the provision of mental health care within Bermuda. This would include interface with the Mental Health Review Tribunal and Chair, and at times advice to the Bermuda Courts Reporting and Accountability Provide appropriate, timely returns for any external consultations and Quality and Risk activities as required Qualifications &/ Registration required: Board Certified in Psychiatric Medicine Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an attending Psychiatrist Successful completion of a management course preferred or demonstration of excellent managerial experience Current registration with Medical Council in relevant jurisdiction Eligible to register with Bermuda Medical Council Closing date for applications is 26th September 2025. Pre-employment substance abuse screening is mandatory for all successful candidates.
